crown and inlay preparation. Chamfer preparation with a locator pin: these torpedo-shaped diamond-
coated instruments with an axial locator pin are suitable for preparing a defined chamfer because
the chamfer is initially gently located supragingivally, in a circular fashion, while, at the same time, the
polished locator pin is guided around the tooth without pressure.
